Twitter leans into video


It's not going 'full TikTok' but Twitter's latest updates will improve the user video experience. The first update expands tweeted videos to full-screen mode with a single click - users can discover more video content by entering a vertical scrolling feed of clips, which will be sorted by Twitter’s algorithms, enabling a showcase of the best-performing videos in the app. The second update puts more emphasis on video content in Explore, with a new ‘For you’ video carousel display - users can view videos based on tweets / trends that interest them. Twitter executives noted that they have been seeking ways to tap into video for some time, leaning into the same AI recommended content approach that made TikTok what it is today. Read more here.
